TitleTooth key
DescriptionThe tooth key was used in dentistry to extract diseased teeth. It was used from the mid 1700s up until the 20th century. This tooth key dates from the early 1800s. The key was first inserted horizontally into the mouth, then it's 'claw' would be tightened over a tooth. The key was rotated to loosen the tooth but this often resulted in the tooth breaking.
