Emily Winifred Dickson

Dr Emily Winifred Dickson is the first female fellow of RCSI. This collection comprises of medical certificates, medals, personal items, correspondence, photographs, published material and newspaper cuttings that are related to her life and medical career. It also includes documents relating to the family history and genealogy of the Dickson and Martin families.

Thomas Heazle Parke

This collection comprises of manuscript diaries written while on the Emin Pasha Relief Expedition (1887-1890), correspondence, photographs, newspaper cuttings, Parke's published account of the expedition 'My Personal experiences in Equatorial Africa' (1891) and numerous accolades bestowed on Parke after returning from Africa with Henry Morton Stanley. Thomas Parke received his Licentiate from RCSI in 1878.

William Wallace

This collection comprises of patient catalogues, patient illustrations and published material that are related to William Wallace's medical career and specifically his study of skin diseases. William Wallace received his Licentiate from RCSI in 1813.(The illustrations include graphic images of sexual organs.)

Medical Instruments

RCSI houses an extensive collection of medical instruments from Ireland and abroad. The collection includes instruments used in historical battlefields including the Battle of Vitoria (1813) and the Crimean War (1853-1856).
