Manuscript note on the lid reads '3/5/68 sent by Prof. Boris Petrovsky Minister for Health Moscow'. The front of the medal has a man's face with an inscription in Russian characters around it. The back of the medal has a scene with buildings and a statue with an inscription in Russian characters around it.
