Manual and Illustrations for Operative Surgery This section contains materials relating to Fitzgerald's contribution to one of the many editions of Operative Surgery. Notably, volume 2, which mainly covered orthopedics. This standard medical text was under the general editorship of Charles Rob of St. Mary's Hospital in London, England, and Rodney Smith of the Royal College of Surgeons in London, England. It includes a reprint of the appendicectomy section, which Fitzgerald authored, in addition to preliminary sketches by Joyce Nolan, the finalised versions of which accompanied the appendicectomy, pelvic abscess and appendix abscess sections. c1950s-1960s
