  <dc:description>Large bronze medal from the Royal Geographical Society in black octagonal shaped presentation box with 'T.H.P' in gold lettering on the lid. The medal is decorated and inscribed on both sides. The first side has a profile of Stanley's face. The inscription reads 'H.M. Stanley presented by the Royal Geographical Society MDCCCXC (1890)'. The second side is decorated with an image of a lady wearing an elephant's head a s a hat, water jugs are in her hands and a crocodile at her feet. She is looking at the sun rising/setting over a forest. The inscription reads 'Thomas Heazle Parke Congo Nile Ruwenzori 1887-1889'.
