Surgeon Civil Hospt. Gibraltar (?)'. Manuscript notes accompanying the illustrations read as follows: ''No.1 - a man of small size'; 'No.11 - Jose Regmundi at 60. Drawn shortly before death. R..W. Wearing fecit. Feint imitation of the pustule maligne.';  'No.8 - done after imperfect cauterisation of lid. Juan Catania at 13. R..W. Wearing fecit. Feint imitation of the pustule maligne.'
