Model of Early Victorian Surgeon Model of a surgeon with table of instruments and bed, formerly in glass and wooden box and now in multiple loose pieces including a bowl, jug, two bottles and scissors. The typescript inscription read 'Model of an Early Victorian Pre-Listerian Surgeon. He has completed the operation, the patient has been taken away and the surgeon wipes his scalpel on the end of his blood-stained frock coat. In his buttonhole (sic) is seen a bundle of ligatures. This model was made by Mr. G. Ward, of Bradford, England who presented it to this College in 1957'. The accompanying display label states 'This is a model of an early Victorian surgeon who looks like Abraham Colles'. Damaged and extremely fragile. 1957
