This tablet and memorial bed have been instituted by a number of those who desire to preserve his name as a zealous worker in the interests of the City of Dublin Hospital. And as a man truly devoted to his profession, kindly to all and a friend of many. He served in the Great War from Mons until his death at Wimerfux, from wounds received in discharge of his duty on the 29th May 1918'. 29 May 1918
