| Description | A gift to Mary Frances Crowley from a religious sister, a wooden bowl made in Norway in the traditional Norwegian style of folk art, 'Rosemaling'. The term means 'rose painting' or 'decorative painting', consisting of floral designs, many colours and lots of scrolls and flourishes. The design on this wooden bowl appears to be in the 'Hallingdal Rosemaling' style which comes mainly from the Eastern Norwegian valley. |
