The RCSI Heritage Collections Online Catalogue provides researchers with access to detailed information about the collections and aims to open a portal to the wealth of knowledge that resides within.

The RCSI Heritage Collections Online Catalogue supports simple keyword search across all fields as well as advanced search using specific criteria and keyword combinations. The Online Catalogue can also be browsed in its entirety using the Hierarchy Browser.

Collection records include a brief description of item content, an indicative date or date range, and a description of the item format. Some collection records may also include an associated image, if available. Cataloguing of the collections is ongoing, and new records will be added on a regular basis as they become available.

Researchers should contact RCSI Heritage Collections to request full access to catalogued items citing reference number. The RCSI Heritage Collections team will advise researchers if items may be accessed in digital format or if a physical visit to the RCSI Heritage Collections Reading Room will be necessary to consult requested material.

There is a separate platform to explore RCSI Digital Heritage Collections. This platform hosts a growing body of digital material and online resources relating to the history of RCSI and Ireland’s medical heritage.
